Electroosmotic Flow in Porous Media
Application ID: 11
This example treats the modeling of electroosmotic flow in porous media. The system consists of a compartment of sintered porous material and two electrodes that generate an electric field. The cell combines pressure and electroosmotic driven flow.
The equations that are solved are the continuity equations for flow velocity and current density together with a mass balance using the Electrokinetic flow application mode. The stationary velocity and potential fields are used in the transient simulation of the concentration of a charged tracer species injected into the system.
This model example illustrates applications of this type that would nominally be built using the following products:
however, additional products may be required to completely define and model it. Furthermore, this example may also be defined and modeled using components from the following product combinations:
- COMSOL Multiphysics® and
- either the バッテリデザインモジュール, 化学反応工学モジュール, 腐食解析モジュール, 電気化学モジュール, 電気めっきモジュール, 燃料電池&電解槽モジュール, or マイクロフルイディクスモジュール
The combination of COMSOL® products required to model your application depends on several factors and may include boundary conditions, material properties, physics interfaces, and part libraries. Particular functionality may be common to several products. To determine the right combination of products for your modeling needs, review the 製品仕様一覧 and make use of a free evaluation license.
