If you are looking to learn how to simulate problems involving chemical reactions along with fluid flow and heat and mass transport in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software, this is the course for you. During the 1-day Chemical Reaction Engineering course, we will give you a comprehensive overview of the Chemical Reaction Engineering Module, an add-on product to COMSOL Multiphysics®.

As part of the training, you will have the opportunity to solve relevant example problems during hands-on sessions. In addition to system level reaction kinetics, we will address topics including surface reactions and different mass transport mechanisms such as diffusion, convection, and migration. At the end of the course, you will know how to use the Chemical Reaction Engineering Module to model the effects of mass, momentum, and energy transport in free flow and porous media with chemical reactions.

  • Kinetics of perfectly mixed systems
  • Fitting of kinetic parameters to experimental data
  • Diffusion of diluted and concentrated species

Suggested Background

This course assumes some familiarity with the basic concepts of COMSOL Multiphysics® and transport phenomenon. We strongly recommend that those new to COMSOL Multiphysics® take the COMSOL Multiphysics® Fundamentals training course prior to attending this class.
