DWGreve Consulting provides consulting services in acoustics and electrical engineering. Before founding DWGreve Consulting, I was a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. I worked there from 1990 to 2016 and during this time, I had courtesy appointments in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering as well as the Department of Physics. Upon leaving, I became an emeritus professor of electrical and computer engineering. I have also been a resident institute fellow at the Institute for Advanced Energy Systems, National Energy Technology Laboratory.

I currently provide consulting services through DWGreve Consulting, which is located in Sedona, Arizona. To help my clients solve their problems, I use my experience with modeling in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software, which I have been working with since 2000. You can find examples of my previous uses of COMSOL Multiphysics® in research, publications, and presentations at www.dwgreveconsulting.com.

Areas of Expertise

I have expertise in the following areas:

  • Ultrasonic transducers and wave propagation
  • Ultrasonics for structural health monitoring
  • Near-field inductive coupling
  • Antennas and microwave transitions
  • Electrostatically and piezoelectrically activated MEMS devices
  • AC/DC modeling, including coupling to heat transfer

Featured COMSOL Multiphysics® Projects

Here are two examples of simulation projects that have been presented at the COMSOL Conference:

Available Services

I offer consulting services to clients who need ongoing modeling assistance, have projects with specific goals, or are interested in building customized COMSOL® apps for their engineering personnel to use. Additionally, I provide training on how to use the COMSOL Multiphysics® simulation software.
