Contact or Identity pair?

I am working with the moving mesh module ane heat transfer in solids.
Two rectangular box are 1 m separated at first.
And the, I want to move the material 1 m with the velocity of 1m/s, for 1 second.
There are two questions.
1. I tried moving with moving velocity. v= 1*(t<1)-1*(t>0) for ten seconds.
But I found that it moved less that 1 m.
2. I tried contact pair and identity pair at contact boundary but it didn't work as continuity.
Please, help !
