The effect of metallization thickness on planar transmission lines plays an essential role in microwave integrated circuits and thin film technology, especially in the propagation characterization and the electric field distribution in the structures. The objective of this paper is to ...
In recent years, the single-sided linear induction motor (SLIM) has been the most suitable choice for electric vehicles of the wheel and touchless type. The reason is simplicity in manufacturing, capability in applying direct force, moving and braking and low pollution. To study the ...
A Microbolometer is a specific type of uncooled infrared radiation detector used in thermal cameras, which converts the incoming energy into a proportionate electrical signal, which is then amplified, processed and displayed, typically on the thermal camera’s LCD viewer. The main ...
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is a growing issue in cars due to the increase in electrification of vehicles. Simulations can be useful for predicting issues at an early stage in the development cycle. This includes investigating EM stray fields that various components generate and ...
An important attribute for numerical simulations is to provide accurate quantified solution values. Thus it is useful to find complex problems with analytic solutions to confirm the numerical results obtained from software. The well-known proximity effect causes a redistribution of ...
Cancer is one of the leading causes of deaths worldwide. According to the American Cancer Society, there will be about 700,000 cancer related deaths in US in 2017. Cancer mortality will be reduced if it is detected and treated at the early stages. Previous studies have shown that ...
In this paper, a numerical study is conducted on the melting and solidification process of metal foam/paraffin wax with cyclic heating and cooling. A mathematical model based on the Brinkman-Frochheimer extended Darcy equation and the local thermal non-equilibrium model (LTNE) is ...
This paper presents results on the visualisation of tracks of charged particles in a non-uniform magnetic field. The field modelled is that generated by a coil driven by DC current. The motion of typical particles, such as electrons, ions and multiply-charged heavy particles has been ...
We have developed a model for computing current and field distributions in multifilamentary superconducting thin films subjected to the simultaneous effects of transport ac current and applied dc field perpendicular to the sample. The model is implemented in COMSOL’s PDE module (general ...
