LiveLink™ for MATLAB® Updates
For users of LiveLink™ for MATLAB®, COMSOL Multiphysics® version 6.4 provides support for the new Granular Flow Module, a new function for calculating standard deviations, and an updated function that permits a complex-valued linearization point. Read more about these updates below.
Support for the Granular Flow Module
A new mphgrain function has been introduced to extract grain trajectory data from models created using the new Granular Flow Module. In addition, the mphplot function has been updated to support plotting of data from this new module.

New mphstddev Function
A new function for evaluating results, mphstddev, has been introduced to calculate the standard deviation of expressions. This addition is similar to the existing functions mphmean, mphmin, and mphmax, which compute the mean, minimum, and maximum values, respectively.
Mphmatrix
The mphmatrix function has been updated to permit a complex-valued linearization point (eigref) when used in eigenvalue studies. In addition, new outputs have been added for lumped mass matrices: EL and ELc for the lumped mass matrix and the eliminated lumped mass matrix, respectively.
