Spectral absorptivity plot for multilayered material

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I am simulating the infrared radiation transmission through a multi-layered structure with metal-dielectric-metal layers configuration to get an absorptivity plot for it (metamaterial). For this purpose, I am using the Wave Optics module in the frequency domain. The parameters for the analysis that I have adopted are -

  • A periodic boundary for periodicity in X and Y directions.
  • Two ports are domain-backed. One port is used for wave excitation.
  • Two perfectly matched layer (PML) domains.
  • Electromagnetic models - Drude-Lorentz for metal and Relative permittivity for the dielectric.

Problem - In the obtained plots of the spectral absorptivity, the wavelength at which the peaks are coming are matching with that from standard results, but the intensities of peaks are less by 30-40%.

I have checked the available models on the website and similar topics in forum discussions, but I haven’t found any possible solution.

Thank you so much for your time and help!

Best regards,
Mehul
