Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are used to regulate indoor temperature, humidity, and air quality in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Modeling and simulation can be used to optimize HVAC system design and evaluate overall building performance.

In this on-demand webinar, we discuss the modeling capabilities of the COMSOL Multiphysics® software for HVAC and building performance applications. We also cover how effects such as conjugate heat transfer, moisture transport, and solar radiation can be incorporated into simulations.

We perform demonstrations in the software showing how to simulate airflow through duct and piping networks; how to predict flow, temperature and humidity distributions; and how HVAC control strategies can be considered. In addition, we demonstrate how COMSOL® can be used to model contaminant leaks to predict their spread through buildings and HVAC duct systems.
