RANS Wall Function

Hi folks,

I am trying to modify the K-Epsilon model in comsol 4.2 so I can introduce some damping in the turbulence.

The idea is to have a Low Reynolds K-Epsilon, but different from the Low Reynolds that comes with COMSOL.

So far so good, however I have it a snag...I can't seem to be able to disable ou overwritte the Wall Function in the
K-Epsilon interface.

Is it possible? If so, can anyone give any advices on the subject.

First, set up to view equations, then open the equation viewer in the model tree.

Then, you should be able to figure out all the variable names in the equations used in the pre-set module for the Low-Re k-e turbulence model.

Having figured out the variable names, you can either delete the existing variables you want to replace, or you can first rename the existing variables to something else that will not get used, then replace the renamed variables with your new model. I would opt for the 2nd replacement option because you can then still see how it is set up to use as an example for your replacement model.

Please post your new model. It sounds like a great idea for other folks to use (including myself).
