what do you exactly mean by compliance here ? for me if you define a geoemtry and the material E (Young modulus) and nu (Poisson), perhaps density rho too, then the loads and BC the "complieance" is the resulting of solving the model.
If it's yield strength you think about, then you do not define it but you compare your stress results to the yield levels, you can do it in a formual and get a saefty factor type color plot
