Using a Voltage waveform as an input in Comsol

I am studying the effect of lightning - induced voltages on the insulation of a medium voltage line. The induced voltage I am proposing to use, I obtained it from EMTP. I would like to know if I could add this voltage under the parameters instead of just a constant figure of say 300kV.

thanks Hunter

Hunter,

a time dependent waveform cannot be a parameter. You must define a function (e.g. an interpolation function) and call it where you need it in the model.

Cheers Edgar

Hi Edgar, Thank you so much. I used the interpolation option and succeeded in calling it.

Thanks again, Hunter
