Models created in COMSOL Multiphysics often represent real-life situations in which initial stresses and/or strains are present before outside forces and loads are applied. This tutorial video lays out the steps for adding an initial strain to a structural mechanics bracket model, previously created and opened from COMSOL's Model Library. The results show the effects that the strain has on the model -- before a load is ever applied.
