Building the mesh is an important step in setting up a simulation model, as it may have an impact on the accuracy of the results, the memory usage, the computation time, or the convergence of the solver. Depending on the physics involved and the complexity of the geometry, several types of meshes can be considered.
Beyond the built-in, fully automated meshing capabilities, the COMSOL Multiphysics® software also offers a wide range of functionality that makes it possible to manually build meshes suited for the most complex models.
