HAMSTAD Benchmark 1: Heat and Moisture Transport in an Insulated Roof

This tutorial shows how to simulate coupled heat and moisture transport in an insulated roof structure, made of a load bearing and an insulation layer. The thermal insulation is facing the interior and there is a moisture barrier facing the exterior. The load bearing is capillary active while the insulation layer is capillary non-active, which induces high relative humidity levels at the contact surface between the two materials, resulting in internal condensation. The 1D model is the first benchmark defined in HAMSTAD-WP2 Modeling for the validation of numerical simulations for coupled heat and moisture transport in building materials.
