Two-Stage Powder Compaction Process
Application ID: 90791
Powder compaction is a key process in powder metallurgy, where it gives the flexibility to produce quality products of complex shapes for sintering. The density of the compact is a key factor to determine the overall quality of the sintered product, as regions with lower density could reduce its mechanical strength.
A multistage compaction process is one of way to achieve homogeneous density in the workpiece. In this example, a two-stage compaction process is demonstrated in a simple setup, and the outcome is compared with the results of a single-stage process.
This model example illustrates applications of this type that would nominally be built using the following products:
however, additional products may be required to completely define and model it. Furthermore, this example may also be defined and modeled using components from the following product combinations:
The combination of COMSOL® products required to model your application depends on several factors and may include boundary conditions, material properties, physics interfaces, and part libraries. Particular functionality may be common to several products. To determine the right combination of products for your modeling needs, review the 製品仕様一覧 and make use of a free evaluation license.
